Beyond the Beauty
COWHIDE SUSTAINABILITY INFO…
All leather and hair-on leather come from government approved suppliers who source hides from farmers who supply the meat industry. The hide is a by product of the food supply chain.
It is 100% natural, including the tanning process. All cowhide products that are sustainably treated using vegetable tanning processes rather than the more harmful and polluting chemical tanning process.
The tanneries recycle the hides from the meat industry and then transform them into beautiful products.
Cowhide is renewable and biodegradable. Leather also has a durability and longevity that plastic does not - and of course it is unique and super stylish!
SPRINGBOK SUSTAINABILITY INFO…
Hide Vibe has partnered with FSP Collection for the manufacture and supply of our Luxury Springbok collection. We chose them specifically because the brand is built around the ethos of conservation and environmental awareness. All raw materials are obtained through Government approved herd reduction programmes or are a natural by-product of the meat industry.
Springbok are plentiful and have a species status of ‘least concern’. They are not a protected species. They live freely in great abundance in Southern Africa and the sustainability of the species is carefully managed. Ensuring the survival of the species, Springbok are culled seasonally, and this maintains population control.
Most importantly, all parts of the animal are used, in the food industry, textiles, furniture, décor and fashion.
The leather sourced for our products have least natural defects to ensure the product is the highest quality.
This supplier is also dedicated to local job creation and demonstrates good employment conditions for its staff and artisans. We LOVE this!
